Meteorological support

For the first time, meteorological observations using radar equipment began to be used during the Second World War. The first locators were quite simple, one-parameter, and made it possible to determine only one characteristic of precipitation and cloudiness - radar reflectivity Z. But even these modest capabilities made it possible to determine the location of cloud zones and their structure.

Modern meteorological radar equipment is a complex electronic system that operates with many parameters. With their help, you can solve the following important tasks:

Modern radio meteorology operates with only three frequencies: X (3.2 cm), C (5.3 cm) and S (10 cm). To determine intense precipitation, the S range is most often used, as the least susceptible to the negative influence of weather conditions. The disadvantage of this range is that an antenna with a diameter of at least 9 meters is required to work with it.

The X-band is rarely used, as it is 100 times more dependent on the weather than S. Its only advantage is the ability to use ultra-small antennas for observations - only 2 meters in diameter for a 1 ° beamforming. It is a meteorological observation format used for mobile radars based on automotive technology.

The C-band (5.3 cm) is a reasonable compromise between antenna diameter, meteorological sensitivity and cloud attenuation. Equipment for this frequency requires an antenna with a diameter of only 4.3 meters, which allows it to be used in a wide variety of situations.

Masters Capital Management offers installation, configuration and integration into existing weather radar systems of all three types. Our specialists have significant experience in working with equipment of different years of manufacture and manufacturers, including the most modern systems of new generations. All work is carried out with the provision of an official guarantee.
